It's easy for someone outside of the situation to

It's easy for someone outside of the situation to say "just move on" or "just get rid of them". This can come up a lot this time of year as we may find ourselves pushed together with family more often than usual.

That doesn't mean it's easy to do.

If you aren't ready to cut someone off, or feel the consequences would be too great if you do, that's okay too.

You can when you're ready - or not! There's no right answer to these complicated situations.

It's almost a new year!

As we close out 2023, we're sharing four questions (once each week) to help you reflect on the last 12 months and prepare for 2024.

While you can look back and self reflect at any point, this time of year feels like a built pause to make sure you're living in a way that feels aligned with what brings you peace and joy.

Today we encourage you to reflect on the highs and lows of 2023 and what they taught you. How have you been impacted by each? How did you feel during? Are there any lessons you can takeaway to ensure you don't repeat a low or can replicate a high?

Feel free to journal if this is helpful for you, otherwise just something to think about when you have a minute.

Your relationship with your therapist should feel

Your relationship with your therapist should feel different than the ones with your friends or other loved ones, but it should NOT feel like you're just "paying someone to listen to you talk".

While our relationship dynamic may be unique, we care about all of the clients we work with!

It is definitely a red flag if you don't feel like your therapist is invested in you as a person past your session time.

If those are the vibes you're getting, it may be helpful to check in with your therapist and/or seek out a better fit.

Accountability and self reflection are great. But

But there is that chance that you're just spending time with people who are really toxic.

It's a lifelong journey to know the difference.

Since we're kicking off the season of giving, and sometimes that means giving way too much of yourself, try to find time to do something joyful and small that's just for you.

Taking 30 minutes out of your day to read or watch your favorite show will absolutely make upcoming holiday gatherings feel easier.
